Spotify Looking Into Major Bug Breaking the App on Android

Spotify has started an investigation of a bug that’s causing the Android client to fail to load, as it gets stuck on the splashing screen that users see after launching the app.

As per PiunikaWeb, several users have reported the problem all over the web, including on Spotify’s forums.

The bug comes down to the same behavior: users can no longer load the Spotify app, as the Android client only shows the Spotify logo, after which it freezes without letting users start the playback or browse the library.

At this point, it’s not yet clear what’s causing the problem, but in some cases, the whole thing showed up after changing the storage location or after signing out of the app.
